Morseda Akter, a math major from Kingston, N.Y., won the Holiday Card Contest in December and was awarded a $1,000scholarship with her design of friends taking a selfie together on the Podium. Akter, whose artwork was used on the University’s holiday greeting, said the image was inspired “by the way people reunited with their friends and loved ones when we all found out that we can be back on campus.” President Havidán Rodríguez started the Holiday Card Contest in2018 to showcase the creativity and artistic talent of UAlbany students.
