Resurrecting History To help visitors navigate the more than 467 acres of Albany Rural Cemetery, Rui Liu, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Sustainability, leads the development of the Albany Rural Cemetery Explorer (ARCE). Model Subject The cranium of a male gelada, a large-bodied monkey from the Ethiopian highlands, glows under a laser scanner in Professor Adam Gordon’s anthropology lab. The resulting 3D scan is reproduced as a 3D-printed model for instruction and research. Gordon and his graduate students examine skeletal material of primates and other mammals from around the world to explore how their bones and joints have evolved in response to how they moved through their environments.
